NEW CD "Impressions"
This new CD is a collection of acoustic
instrumentals in the form of sketches or impressions. It was inspired by
Rick's love of the Blues, Ragtime and Folk and features more fine playing
in these styles from an expert in fingerstyle. Includes an out take
from the "Bridge", a tune called the "Thing", featuring acoustic bass from
Cliff Thorne. A must for your collection. |

The Bridge
This
recent album by master acoustic blues and slide guitarist, Rick Payne, is an
acoustic tour de force. Rick usually confines himself to solo work, both on
stage and in the studio, but on "The Bridge" he has surrounded himself with
a top class crew of musicians, including the great Stuart Gordon on fiddle
and Cliff Thorne on bass. Rick's arrangements, the finest playing and
excellent, mature song writing all combine to make "The Bridge" one of the
finest roots acoustic albums you're likely to hear. |

Blue River Blues
Rick Payne recorded Blue River Blues at the Bennett House
Studios in Grass Valley California back in 1990. It's a collection of
self-penned and classic blues songs such as "Little Red Rooster". Guest
guitarist was the legendary John Girton of "Dan Hicks And His Hot Licks"
fame. His outstanding acoustic lead work is featured on tracks like Blind
Blake's, Ditty Wa Ditty audio and the awesome "Cafe
Blue".

Instrumentally Yours -
Rick Payne is best known as an acoustic
bluesman. He is widely regarded as one of the world's finest acoustic
slide players. However, this is not the be all and end all of Rick Payne's
guitar playing by any means. Not surprising when you consider his
classical guitar training. "Instrumentally Yours" is a fabulous showcase
of all kinds of fingerstyles. A heady mix of
acoustic guitar flavours here, including Celtic, Elizabethan lute stylings,
Folk, Blues, Ragtime and Jazz. "Instrumentally Yours" amazes and delights
the listener as it veers this way and that on its magical, musical mystery
tour of contemporary and old school fingerstyles. |
